# Introduction

REST API for AwardSpring scholarship management.

Authenticate every request with your institution's secret key in the `X-Spring-API-Key` header. The key determines which institution's data you can reach.

Fields use `snake_case`. List endpoints return a `list` envelope and are cursor-paginated: pass the `next_cursor` from a response back as `starting_after` to fetch the following page. Errors return a JSON `error` object with a stable machine-readable `code`.

Every record is named by a 9-character ID, such as `7HQ2KW9XR`. Treat it as opaque text and send it back exactly as you received it.
